There are just times in your life that give you a moment to pause and you realize "Oh, there you be."
One of those moments occurred when we purchased our first mini-van. A minivan means...1) you got kids or need a vehicle to haul things around (for me...that's kids), 2) a sudan just ain't gonna cut it anymore...not enough room, 3) there's a potential that you're going to be carrying around more things than you plan on (for me...that's "kid junk" and other carpooling kids), etc.
Another moment came today with the acquisition of a trampoline. We feel like a "true family" now. We own a minivan and trampoline. There we be. Simple as that.
That all being said. The trampoline might be one of our more brilliant purchases. The kids were thrilled. They helped Chad to build it. We had to run errands and when we returned, all the kids were racing into the house at a mad dash. I couldn't figure out what the rush was about...until I saw that they were all racing to the trampoline.
We had the most perfect weather today (read: no rain, not too hot, not too cold, sunshine). We ate dinner outside. The kids played and played and played on the trampoline. Chad and I attacked the weeds in the yard. Meanwhile, our kids made up games to play on the trampoline. For three hours, not once did I hear, "Can I play the __________(some electronical-based game)?" They played together as a group with NO fighting! They were imaginative. They were creative. It was a "real" childhood moment. It felt good. It felt great. It was a splendid day.

So great!
I still jump on our trampoline.
For some reason, those things are just the bomb dot com. Period.
We've had ours for almost 5 years and the kids never tire of it. It literally provides hours of creative entertainment! This is a purchase worth every penny, as I'm sure you can already tell. Besides being able to recreate the memories of sleepouts on the tramp, running through the sprinklers on the tramp, etc. What would childhood be without these memories, right?
